The floating pier, created to quickly transport humanitarian aid from the sea to Gaza, has been anchored to a beach in Gaza.

Personnel anchored the pier at about 7:40 a.m. local time, “supporting the humanitarian mission to deliver additional humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians,” the statement read,

Trucks are expected to begin moving the humanitarian aid ashore in the next few days, while the United Nations will coordinate distribution within the besieged strip, without any US troops ‘on the ground.’

Initially, the goal is to allow 90 truckloads of aid to enter Gaza each day through the pier, but hopefully that could rise to 150 trucks.
