Over a dozen people were killed when a 19th-century streetcar that’s one of Lisbon’s big tourist attractions derailed and crashed, killing 17.

Known as Elevador da Gloria, it is a must-see for most tourists visiting the Portuguese capital.

Reportedly, it came off the rails during the evening rush hour. The wreckage was cordoned off as investigators sifted through it.

Portugal is observing a day of national mourning.
