Trump erupted in anger today after a reporter from the New York Times noted that his public schedule and visible level of activity had appeared to ‘slow in recent weeks.’
“They know this is wrong, as is almost every thing that they write about me, including election results, ALL PURPOSELY NEGATIVE. This cheap “RAG” is truly an “ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE,” Trump wrote.
The reporter’s brief comment, made during an interview segment about the pace of Trump’s campaign appearances, suggested that aides had been keeping events shorter and less frequent. Trump dismissed the observation as “a total lie,” accusing the outlet of trying to undermine him politically. He claimed that his workload remained “incredible” and argued that any suggestion otherwise was part of a broader attempt to portray him as weakened.
He also accused veteran White House reporter Katie Rogers of being “assigned to only write bad things” about him and called her “a third rate reporter who is ugly, both inside and out.”
The NYT has already had to defend one of their reporters after Trump angrily yelled at her ‘Quiet! Quiet, piggy.’

Responding to Trump’s attack on its reporting and personal attack on its reporter, The New York Times wrote:
“The Times’s reporting is accurate and built on firsthand reporting of the facts. Name-calling and personal insults don’t change that, nor will our journalists hesitate to cover this administration in the face of intimidation tactics like this,” the broadsheet said in a statement after Trump’s Truth Social rant. “Expert and thorough reporters like Katie Rogers exemplify how an independent and free press helps the American people better understand their government and its leaders.”
