The “cream du jour” or beauty trend gaining traction lately are products that claim to fill in wrinkle areas so you can apply makeup and look “flawless.”

I tried StirVectin Antiwrinkle LineBlurfector™ that is a primer for the skin before applying makeup. StriVectin products state they are paraben-free, PETA-certified cruelty free, and FSC-certified. ($29.25 for 1oz.)

The formula is creamy and a bit sticky to apply (I dabbed it under my eye area to try and ‘fill’ in wrinkles). The product claims to be a “a breathable, skincare-infused primer formulated with ‘Optical Blurring Microspheres’ that fill in and blur the look deep-set wrinkles instantly.” It also claims to prevent makeup from settling into creases or intensifying lines.

It seems to provide a “spackle-like” effect or layer but it’s dependent on hot/cold and doesn’t seem permanent. The directions say it can be applied throughout the day. I didn’t find that it filled in lines or provided a smooth palette for makeup application. It felt tacky to me, and I didn’t find that blurred anything.

Bottom line: I’m not finding the secret sauce or holy grail solution here!
