Remember when Amy Coney Barrett was nominated to the US Supreme Court and her supporters assumed she would always vote the way Trump wanted her to? She quickly demonstrated that wasn’t the case, even declaring, “I’m nobody’s justice.”

As Trump floats the idea of seeking a third term as President, despite clear constitutional restrictions, Barrett was asked about the  22nd Amendment’s two-term limit.

When asked if the amendment was “cut and dry,” Barrett responded: “Well, you know, that’s what the amendment says, right?

As you’ll remember from history classes, the 22nd Amendment, ratified in 1951, explicitly states: “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.”

If Trump does indeed try to run for a third term, it’s clear he’ll have the Supreme Court barring his way.
