Ready for a dose of facial dewiness, I tried VT Cosmetics Korean skincare product called “PDRN 100 Essence Intensive Glow Serum” that comes in a sleek 1.01 fl. ounce metallic pump bottle (Amazon $26.00).

The vegan serum is creamy with a nice, moisturizing consistency, but my dry skin needs a bit more fortification. So, I used this cream as extra boost around the eye area and facial mouth lines. It seemed to absorb well and felt good on the skin.

What’s the secret ingredient? The ‘PDRN essence’ is sourced from Korean wild ginseng and is a plant-based alternative to PDRN that is usually fish-derived from salmon DNA. What is PDRN? It is tiny pieces of DNA that help support the skin’s ability to repair and regenerate. The formula offers 100,000 parts per million of plant-based PDRN (translation about 10%).

Newer products are exploring natural sources for PDRN and it’s a good thing because I don’t think I want salmon DNA on my skin! Overall, PDRN 100 is refreshing, and I can feel good about this spring fling of ginseng-based moisture on my skin.
