Epicutis, developed by Signum BioSciences, blends biotech innovation with clean, professional-grade skincare. Founded on groundbreaking research by Dr. Jeffry Stock at Princeton University, their formulas center around novel, patented actives like TSC, HYVIA®, and DSD—each targeting skin barrier health, inflammation, and environmental protection.

Epicutis champions minimalist, non-toxic formulations: fragrance-free, EWG Verified, vegan, non‑GMO, gluten‑free, cruelty‑free, and fully compliant with EU standards, appealing to both professionals and consumers.

It is considered a ‘medical-grade luxury skincare line.’

Lipid Serum is their flagship product.

  • Packed with TSC, HYVIA®, and DSD, this serum is designed for barrier repair, redness reduction, and collagen support.

  • Some Doctors recommend it post-procedure (ie, micro needling)  or for sensitive skin

Dr. James Wang, double board-certified dermatologist, Founder of Metropolis Dermatology explains why Epicutis works so well:

“Retinoids are one of the most powerful ingredients we have for treating acne and signs of aging—but let’s be honest, they can be tough on the skin. The dryness, redness, and irritation that often come with starting a retinoid are the main reasons people give up on them, even though the long-term benefits are worth it. That’s where TSC comes in.

This new study shows that TSC has a unique ability to calm irritation and strengthen the skin barrier, which makes sticking with retinoids a lot more doable. The noticeable reduction in redness and dryness is exciting because it means we don’t have to choose between results and comfort anymore.”

Lipid Serum. $250

What we thought:

The serum absorbs quickly, and after a few days, we noticed our skin tone was more even, and the occasional Rosacea spots disappeared. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, it’s perfect for acne-prone skin — and Rosacea. After three weeks, our skin texture improved and felt hydrated. We even used it on a recent scar and it helped diminish the redness, making the scar less visible.

It is pricey at $250 but people who use it regualry swear it’s worth the moola.

It does need to be prescribed by a doctor, but you can find a provider on their handy map.
