Biden’s administration just announced that Health Insurance companies must cover at-home rapid kits for COVID.

Starting Saturday, up to 8 tests per person per month may be covered without cost to the consumer when acquired at specific outlets. The administration will “incentivize” the companies to allow people to get the tests with no out-of-pocket costs through “preferred” pharmacies and retailers, according to the release.
Insurance companies can either cover the cost up-front or by reimbursing the insured person through a claim.

In an effort to ramp up testing, the White House also announced that it was finalizing details of a plan to ship 500 million free at-home tests to all Americans.
