A New York City health department study released today revealed the startling number of unvaccinated health workers — only 70 % of health care workers have received their jabs.

‘It is distressing that so many health care workers are not getting vaccinated,’ said Richard Gottfried, Health Committee Chairman and representative of Manhattan in the state assembly.

‘It’s important to protect themselves, to protect their patients, and to keep the health care system running. They should be setting an example for everyone.’

According to a 2018 study, there are 450,000 workers employed by hospitals in New York State. That means more than 100,000 workers are unvaccinated.

If hospitals can mandate that their workers are vaccinated against the flu, measles, rubella, and varicella, why can’t they add COVID to the list?
