Remember when Trump ran on an isolationist pledge to put  ‘America First’ and not involve the country in foreign military actions or what he called “forever wars”. Oh yes, and there was his campaign promise that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine would end on “Day One” and he would bring a swift end to the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

Now he risks a further splintering of his MAGA base.

“This is what many in MAGA thought they voted to end,” said Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a one-time Trump loyalist who is set to resign this week from her seat representing Georgia. “Boy were we wrong.”

Instead of mollifying his base, Trump boasted that the aggression may not stop with Venezuela.
