In an extraordinary move, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday seeking to stop Rep. Jim Jordan from what the prosecutor said is a “brazen and unconstitutional attack” by members of Congress on the ‘prosecution and investigation of former president Donald Trump.’

Jordan has repeatedly attacked the DA in statements, threatened lawsuits, and interfered in the investigation at every stage.

In the suit, Bragg emphasized that:

“Chairman Jordan claims he is seeking to conduct ‘oversight,’” the Bragg lawsuit reads. “But he has no power under the Constitution to oversee state and local criminal matters.”
