Two days after a horrifying video surfaced of Diddy beating his former girlfriend, Cassie, in a hotel, Sean Diddy Combs made an apology video.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,” Combs said in a video statement posted to Instagram. “I was f**ked up — I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.”
He continued: “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I am disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now.”
The disgraced mogul went on to say he sought therapy after the event.
“I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry,” he said. “But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”
Note that Diddy has denied the accusations (though he settled in court one day after his former girlfriend sued him), and he apologized only after this hotel video was released.
And as Cassie’s attorney points out, he makes himself the victim.
Attorney Meredith Firetog said in a statement on Sunday following the release of Combs’ apology:
“Combs’ most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt. When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday. That he was only compelled to ‘apologize’ once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.”
Meanwhile, there are FIVE lawsuits pending against the music mogul from women who say they were abused by Diddy.
