For hikers in the Grand Canyon, their trip suddenly turned deadly.

Heavy rain triggered a flash flood. As hikers struggled to reach higher ground, one woman was washed into Havasu Creek, about a half mile from where the creek meets the Colorado River.

The National Guard rescued more than 100 people from the flood-impacted area of Grand Canyon while search efforts for a missing hiker continued Sunday.

UPDATE: Monday, emergency personnel recovered the body of Chenoa Nickerson, 33.
