Former President Barack Obama was on the campaign trail this weekend, supporting Democratic candidates. But this time, the gloves came off.
Some of the highlights.
For instance, on Saturday Obama mocked the current administration, saying it was defined by “incompetence the likes of which we have not seen in modern times.”
At one point, Obama blamed for a war in Iran “that nobody asked for.”
He added that America had never had a president “excel so wildly at just straight-up grifting.”
“He should be on HGTV,” Mr. Obama said, ridiculing Mr. Trump’s focus on applying gold trimmings to the White House. “He’s got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory. Just gold everywhere.”

In Michigan, at a rally for Democratic Senate nominee Dr. El-Sayed, Obama criticized Trump for starting a trade war with Canada.

He also ridiculed Trump’s love for tariffs, especially on Canada.
“These are the people who gave us maple syrup and Martin Short,” Obama said. “Canadians are the nicest people.”

Watch.
