A Texas sheriff said his office has opened a criminal investigation into Florida Gov. Ron DeStantis’s latest political stunt move of flying 50 migrants from the state to Martha’s Vineyard in Mass.

Clearly, the migrants were “lured under false pretenses.”

“They were promised work,” he said. “They were promised the solution to several of their problems.”

A mother stands outside St. Andrew’s church with her child. The migrants were fed lunch with donated food from the community.

Immigration advocates and lawyers have also called for a criminal investigation into DeSantis’ effort to move the migrants under his $12 million program aimed at relocating “unauthorized aliens” to what his administration has described as “sanctuary” jurisdictions.

Add President Biden’s voice; he said transporting migrants is dehumanizing, and they accuse Republicans of using people for political stunts.

Calls for a criminal investigation continue to grow.
