Why do we need boosters in the first place? Simply put, the vaccine’s efficacy wanes after 6 months. Pfizer was the first to get their research and trials to the FDA — and get approved.

Now the CDC is joining the FDA in recommending boosters for older adults, long-term care facility residents and some people with underlying health conditions. The Director, Rochelle Walensky, went one step further and recommended the boosters for those who are ‘at increased risk of Covid-19 because of their workplaces or institutional settings.’

Meanwhile, Johnson & Johnson released partial data this week that it said showed a booster dose greatly raised immunity and will be applying to the FDA soon.
