Talk show host Seth Meyer and his wife Alexi welcomed a second child on Sunday, in a dramatic birth scene as his wife went into sudden labor and delivered their baby boy in the lobby of their building. When EMT’s arrived the baby was already out.
‘I looked at my wife. The only way to describe it, like someone hiding a baby in a pair of sweatpants,’ Meyer’s joked.
On his late-night show, Meyer’s shared a photo of their son and wife surrounded by emergency personnel.
Meyers also shared with his audience a moving story about his baby son got his middle name.
‘His middle name is Strawl, which is my mother-in-law Joanne, that’s her parent’s name. That’s her maiden name. And I never met my wife’s grandparents, but I’ve heard so much about them,’ said Meyers.
‘And they were — they were holocaust survivors, who met the day after they were liberated. They met in a hospital in Austria. And days like this, you really — you know when someone is born, you just have such an appreciation for everyone in your lineage who lived so that you could have this moment.’
