How we got here:
in response to Georgia’s restrictive election law that makes it harder to vote in the State (especially if you are of color), Major League Baseball announced that it was moving its big All-Star Game out of Atlanta.
As thousands of people applauded the move, Former President Obama tweeted congratulations to the league “for taking a stand on behalf of voting rights for all citizen.”
Naturally, Trump tweeted something quite different, calling for a boycott of baseball and all of the “woke companies that are interfering with Free and Fair Elections.”
A tourism official estimated the state would lose more than $100 million that the All-Star Game routinely brought in.
In the meantime, MLB is looking for a new host city for the July 13 game.
