These days getting lip injections (painful & expensive) is not the only game in town. Some of the newer lipstick plumpers actually work.

Grande Cosmetics has a new line which we just tried, to mixed results. One of the editors found the tingling sensation too painful to use while others (me) didn’t even feel it.

Using a ‘cocktail of Volulip™ & Hyaluronic Acid’, the Grande plumper works in 4 minutes and lasts on average of 3-4 hours (at which point, you’ll be reapplying your lipstick anyway.)  These lip plumpers work by locking moisture into the lips which results in a localized swelling effect. Safe and effective.

Non-drying, some of the colors are very flattering (‘Satin’ is my fave) or you can use the gloss to boost your natural lips. ($27.)

Though lip plumpers won’t last as long as injections in a doctor’s office (for us, they last around 6-9 months) they won’t break the bank either. Win-win.
