Poland’s president and the secretary general of NATO said on Wednesday that a Ukrainian air defense missile — not a Russian-fired rocket — was most likely to blame for the deadly explosion on Polish territory which killed two people.

“We have no evidence at the moment that it was a rocket launched by Russian forces,” Polish President Mr. Duda told reporters. “However, there are many indications that it was a missile that was used by Ukraine’s antimissile defense.”

Far from blaming Ukraine, he explained that it was because Ukraine tried to combat about ‘100 missiles’ which resulted in an “unfortunate accident” in Poland — not a direct attack on his country.

“Let me be clear: This is not Ukraine’s fault,” Mr. Stoltenberg said. “Russia bears ultimate responsibility as it continues its illegal war against Ukraine.”

NATO will stand down.
