At there is one positive story to report today. In Micronesia, an Air Niugini Boeing 737-800 ditched into a lagoon close to the runway and all 47 people on board were able to swim to safety or were rescued by fishing boats.
According to the airline, the plane was coming in low when it began raining hard and the experienced pilot brought it down safely — but in the water.
