Trump just announced that he is banning outlets CNN, MS Now and Politico from the White House over their coverage, which he called ‘FAKE NEWS.’
Writing on Truth Social, the president said he would “effective immediately” be “banning Fake News CNN, MSNOW … and Politico … from the White House as a result of their constant ‘reporting’ FAKE NEWS.”
“Media Outlets shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they’re covering the President of the United States, the Trump Administration, or the United States of America. Other Fake News Media Outlets to follow,” he added.
Not only are all the media outlets Trump mentioned in his post reputable organizations, but it is actually not within his power to ban the press.
As of this post, no one from the White House has attempted to enforce the president’s purported “ban” on CNN, MSNOW and Politico, who are all covering their regular shifts at the White House press room.
