Film Academy FINALLY Explains Why They Left Out Luke Perry.

After fans bemoaned that actor Luke Perry, who died last year, had been omitted from the Oscars annual Monomorium segment, The Film Academy issued a statement saying that ‘time constraints’ forced them to leave out some notable names such as Perry, Cameron Boyce, even actor-comedian Tim Conway.

‘The Academy receives hundreds of requests to include loved ones and industry colleagues in the Oscars In Memoriam segment. An executive committee representing every branch considers the list and makes selections for the telecast based on limited available time.’

An upset Tori Spelling, who starred with Luke Perry in ‘90210’ posted angrily about the omission on her IG page:

Other fans called out the Academy for editing out young actor Cameron Boyce, who died young at 20 of complications from epilepsy.

Our suggestion? Cut one of the nonsensical dance names so they can make the Memorium section longer.
