After seemingly giving her blessing to Bradley Cooper’s ‘A Star is Born,’ —  with Lady Gaga in the role made famous by Barbra Streisand — the star now says that the ‘film was the wrong idea.’

During an interview with an Australian talk show she elaborated:

‘At first, when I heard it was going to be done again, it was supposed to be Will Smith and Beyoncé, and I thought, that’s interesting,’ said the iconic singer/actor.

‘Really make it different again, different kind of music, integrated actors, I thought that was a great idea.

‘So, I was surprised when I saw how alike it was to the version that I did in 1976,’ she added, which is what she said in 2018 after the film came out.

But as she said in the interview, you ‘can’t argue with success’ after the film grossed $436 million worldwide and the film’s song ‘Shallows’ won an Oscar.
