It took seven years but the world’s longest sea bridge is finally finished. Officially open today, the longest sea bridge in history links Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China so that a trip that could take up to 4 hours is now a mere 30 minutes.

A marvel of engineering, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is 34 miles long including the underwater tunnel which is connected by two man-made Islands. (The tunnel is so cargo ships can pass by overhead.)
