For the third time in a week, US fighter jets scrambled to shoot down flying objects over North America.

On Saturday, an unidentified object was downed over northern Canada, a day after another object had been shot down over Alaska.

While there is no evidence that these are spy balloons , like the one that floated over Montana, national security officials are huddled in secret meetings and the North American Aerospace Defense Command is on heightened alert.

“Because we have not yet been able to definitively assess what these recent objects are, we have acted out of an abundance of caution to protect our security and interests,” said Melissa Dalton, assistant secretary of defense for homeland defense and hemispheric affairs.

Many are calling on President Biden to address the issue, but there is little he could tell us.
