During his interview with Elon Musk on X, Trump insisted that he would leave the US for Venezuela if he lost the election, saying it’s ‘far safer’ than America.
During his two-hour conversation with the tech mogul on X, Trump claimed that the South American nation is ’emptying out’ its prisons and sending murderers and rapists to the southern border.
‘If something happens with this election, which would be a horror show, we’ll meet the next time in Venezuela, because it’ll be a far safer place to meet than our country.’
‘Venezuela – their crime is down 72 percent,’ Trump said during the interview, claiming ‘drug dealers’, ‘murderers’, ‘rapists’ and other violent criminals are being released from prison.’
Continuing along a familiar refrain, Trump alleged that other countries are sending criminals across the border, resulting in a rise in American crime rates.
‘Bad things happen today, but this is happening every day,’ Trump said of the violence, specifically in New York. ‘We’re already overwhelmed. Elon, we’re overwhelmed.’
Meanwhile, all the facts point to a decrease in violent crime in the U.S.
