It reads like a bad joke.

A billionaire (Musk) and a convicted felon (Trump) conducted the interview on X, though technical issues delayed the chat for over 40 minutes.

It seems like yesterday that Trump was banned from the site, then called Twitter, after the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

Lobbing softball questions from the increasingly right-wing Musk, Trump acted just like he was at a rally and hit all the familiar grievances.

He attacked Harris on immigration, boasting about his friendship with Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, adding darkly that “the people from within” the United States often pose a bigger threat than those countries. (He has ominously told his followers that ‘Harris poses a bigger risk to Democracy’ than anyone else.)

After Trump downplayed the threat of global warming, Musk addressed the issue of climate change minutes later, saying, “It’s not like the house is on fire immediately,” Musk said. (Scientists would disagree.)

Meanwhile, over at the  Harris camp, they responded by calling Trump and Musk “self-obsessed rich guys” who can’t “run a livestream in the year 2024.”
