There are a few things we know about Trump and one of them is that he doesn’t like to have a prepared script, preferring to ‘wing it’ as he says. This plays out disastrously time after time, much to the chagrin of his staff (and most of the Republican party.) Take his comments from on the ground in the Carolina’s:
“This is a tough hurricane,” he proclaims, “one of the wettest we’ve ever seen from the standpoint of water.”
That clears up so much.
Then he does that petulant scowl, which he told his staff is because he wants to look “like Churchill” when he makes this face. Really? We’ve never seen a President less like Churchill in our time.
