Trump announced Monday that he was holding a meeting at the White House with major pharmaceutical companies to talk about a vaccine for the contagious virus.
‘We’re talking about a vaccine, maybe even a cure,’ the president said ahead of his meeting later Monday.
‘We’ve asked them to accelerate whatever they’re doing in terms of vaccine,’ he told reporters.
Meanwhile, researchers say that finding a cure for the disease could easily take a year.
Trump’s upbeat comments came after a second death in the U.S. was confirmed and the worldwide death toll has passed 3,000.
