The Thrive Causemetics event kicked off — literally — with a punch, kick and strike.

To celebrate the launch of its new ‘Sheer Strength Lip Plumping Gloss’ the brand hosted a self-defense class taught by the nonprofit ‘Giving Partner’  Peace Over Violence.

The founder, Karissa Bodnar, founded the brand to empower women through beauty; for every product purchased, they donate to help communities thrive.

Karissa Bodnar invited the TransLatin@ Coalition members to join her and speak on the importance of violence and learning self-defense to protect yourself. In a sweet moment, the philanthropic Bodnar surprised the founder of the organization, Bamby, with her own namesake shade of the Sheer Strength Lip Plumping Peptide Gloss.

Then the media practiced self-defense moves taught by the Peace Over Violence volunteers, including some basics that everyone mastered.

Then it was over to the beauty bar to pick shades of new Sheer Strength Lip-Plumping Peptide Gloss, formulated with Maxi-Lip™, an ingredient clinically proven to increase lip hydration, reduce fine lines on the lips, and plump lips by 40%.

Available in 10 shades, they swipe on easily with a slight cooling sensation (that’s the Peptides) for a natural blush of color. ($26.)

Now go out there a kick some butt!
