Remarkable new video from behind-the-scenes on Jan 6 has been released. While the House Committee has seen part of the video, this is the first time we’ve seen the entire day unfold.
Filmed by Pelosi’s daughter Alexandra, a documentary filmmaker who happened to be with her Mom that day, it shows Nancy’s frustration and anger aimed at Trump.
Then, house-speaker Pelosi expresses her dismay that the rioters had interrupted the certification of the vote, and she at first refuses Secret Service attempts to take her to safety. (She was evacuated to Fort McNair.)
In the aftermath, Pelsoi can be heard saying:
“There’s a domestic enemy in the White House,” she tells her staff as they go over her remarks. “And let’s not mince words about this.”
“I think our focus has to be on the president. Let’s not divert ourselves,” Pelosi said in the footage.
“I just feel sick what he did to the Capitol and to the country today,” Pelosi says when asked how she ‘felt to be done with Trump’. “He’s gotta pay a price for that.”
