Thursday night, the January 6 committee presented new evidence highlighting then-President Donald Trump’s refusal — for over three hours — to stop the riot at the Capitol and call off the riotous mob.

Witnesses inside the White House testified that while the Capitol police were being attacked and MAGA rioters broke into the Capitol, Trump was making calls to Senators insisting that they delay or object to the election results. The entire time he was glued to FOX News and reportedly gleeful at the violence.

Even when Ivanka Trump, Mark Meadows and Republican leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA)  begged  Trump to help call off the mob, he refused and instead fired up the mob with this tweet: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what needed to be done.” When Trump’s national security adviser saw the tweet he decided to resign.

Even Don Jr texted Meadows, “he has to condemn this sh*t ASAP.”

But as we know Trump did nothing until hours later when he tweeted a video from the Rose Garden, urging those still there to “go home.” And added, “we love you, you’re very special.” Notably, he did not mention ‘peace’ which his advisors had pushed for nor did he admit to having lost the election.

Now the committee is trying to make the case that Trump’s inaction amounted to a dereliction of duty.

The hearing also showed new video and audio which proved that VP Mike Pence was in terrible danger and that his security detail feared for their lives as well.

Stay tuned….the final  committee’s public hearing will be in September.
