As Ukraine goes back to the peace talks again this week, President Volodymyr Zelensky says he will accept a ‘neutral, non-nuclear status for his country.’  Putin wouldn’t accept any deal without Ukraine dropping its bid to join NATO, which is effectively what Zelensky has just agreed to.

But not so fast, Russia. Any decision would need to be voted on by the Ukrainian people, and the country’s ‘sovereignty is not in question.’ AND Putin would need to pull all of his troops out of Ukraine. For a successful peace treaty, Zelensky is aware he needs a diplomatic solution that helps Putin save face.
