Trump Says Our Army "Took Over The Airports" During The Revolutionary War

The world's first airports didn't open until around 150 years AFTER the Revolutionary War.

During his hour-long speech on July 4th, President Trump seemed in need of a history lesson after he said:

“Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, it had nothing but victory.”

Color us confused because the Revolutionary War took place 100 years before the airplane was even invented?
