This didn’t go well. Trump’s first negotiating session with Democratic leaders, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer quickly went downhill as the combative President argued about his beloved wall and threatened a government shutdown.
‘The fact is you do not have the votes in the House,’ Pelosi told him calmly. And Chuck Schumer, called Trump a ‘Pinocchio’ and the two shouted angrily at each other as Pelosi tried to calm down the rhetoric.
As Trump continually reminds us, the government will shut down before Christmas if a bill to fund spending is not passed by both the House and the Senate and signed by Trump.
