On Friday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi proposed legislation that would set up a commission under the 25th Amendment to ‘weigh whether a president was incapacitated.’
Maintaining that this was not about a COVID-ridden Trump — – ‘This is not about President Trump. He will face the judgment of the voters,’– Pelosi added ‘He shows the need for us to create a process for future presidents.’
Under this new legislation which would expand the 25th Amendment, a set group of retired president, some cabinet officials, a number of medical doctors, and the V.P. would convene to determine whether a President is incapacitated and unable fulfill his duties.
Republicans screamed ‘coup’ but Pelosi says this was not intended to kick Trump out of office but for the next Congress.
Naturally, Trump pounced, Tweeting that Pelosi is ‘crazy’ (that’s nothing new), should be put under observation, and accused her of plotting a coup.
That does beg the question — if Pelosi feels Trump is in an altered state due to the COVID medications — why aren’t they removing him from office??
