Jessie Combs, who some call the ‘Fastest woman on four wheels,’ died Tuesday while attempting to break her own record in a jet-powered car crash in the desert.

Only 39, she posted days earlier on Instagram that she was on a ‘quest’ to break 512mph.

‘It may seem a little crazy to walk directly into the line of fire… those who are willing, are those who achieve great things. People say I’m crazy. I say thank you,’ she wrote, adding the hashtags #gottabreak512 #aimingfor619.

Besides hosting auto shows, Jessi Combs had also appeared as a host and builder on Discovery Channel’s Mythbusters.
