Former cop Steven Spainhouer was one of the first to arrive at the mall shooting in  Allen, Texas on Saturday and spoke out about the carnage and slammed Gov. Greg Abbot for blaming it on mental health. Eight people, including children, were killed by the mass shooter.

‘I’m a gun lover, I have guns. But these M4s, AR-15s, they’ve got to get off the streets or this is going to keep happening, and we’ve got to stop that at some point,’ he continued.

He furiously criticized Abbott and Texas Senator Ted Cruz for offering ‘prayers and condolences’ in the aftermath of shooting tragedies.

‘Prayers and condolences won’t bring these people back,’ he said. ‘We need some action in our legislatures at the federal and state level for better gun control, and I’m saying that as someone who loves guns.’

Note: The Texas Mall Shooting is the 199th Mass Shooting of 2023.
