I’ve been using the Medicube Booster Pro Mini ($96) for a few weeks, and it’s become a surprisingly addictive step in my skincare routine. It uses electroporation, which sounds intense but is actually completely painless and non-invasive. Brief electrical pulses create tiny channels in the skin, allowing active ingredients to penetrate deeper and work more effectively. This means ingredients like hyaluronic acid or peptides can reach deeper layers, improving hydration, reducing redness, and boosting glow.
It’s similar to microneedling but without needles or muscle stimulation, making it great for sensitive or acne-prone skin. There’s a slight zapping sensation, but it’s not painful—actually, I find it oddly soothing. Start at level 1 and work your way up to level 5 to find what works for you. For me, level 3 is the sweet spot: it feels like it’s doing something, without any discomfort.
Since this device pushes ingredients deeper into the skin, you don’t want to use anything too harsh—especially if you have sensitive skin. I’ve found that hydrating serums, like hyaluronic acid, and lightweight gel moisturizers work best. I mostly use it at night, gliding it from the center of my face outward after applying serum. You do need to have a fair amount of product on your skin so the device can glide smoothly.
In addition to electroporation, the Booster Pro Mini has two LED light settings: red for “intensive after spot care for troubled skin,” and blue for “an instant glow and calming effect,” according to the company’s website. Medicube recommends using the device for 5–10 minutes, up to three times a day. More than once a day isn’t realistic for my schedule, but if you have more time, you’ll probably see even better results.
Even after the first use, I noticed my skin had a visible glow the next morning. Overall, it’s easy, compact, and genuinely enjoyable to use—so if you’re looking to level up your skincare routine without spending too much time or money, it’s definitely worth a try.
