On Friday, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres revealed that she has been lobbying the Academy to offer comedian Kevin Hart a chance to host the Oscars again.

After Hart backed out of the hosting duties due to a controversy over old tweets where he insulted homosexuals, and with less than two months until the Oscars on February 24th the Academy has yet to name a host for the awards show.

Hart made it clear on Ellen’s talk show that he had apologized at the time, 10 years ago, for the tweets.

DeGeneres then announced to Hart and the audience: “I know you are not that guy because I know you. I think the night will be about you, and it should be about you, and you should host the Oscars, and I’m going to talk you into it.”

For a country that believes in second chances, will Hart be on that stage come February 24Th?
