Former California Governor and ‘Terminator’ star Arnold Schwarzenegger made a direct appeal to the Russian people in an attempt to counter the country’s disinformation.
So far, the nine-minute video has racked up 5 million Twitter followers and more than 19,000 Telegram subscribers, but there’s no way to tell if it is getting through to the Russians.
“I hope that you will let me tell you the truth about the war in Ukraine and what is happening there,” Schwarzenegger said as he launched into his very persuasive speech, which had Russian subtitles.
Addressing Russian President Vladimir Putin directly, he says: “You started this war, and you can stop it”.
