Long, fluttery lashes are all the rage, and eyelash extensions are a tempting shortcut to that glamorous look. But are they worth it? Bravo star Bethenny Frankel recently took to social media to spill her unfiltered opinion on lash extensions — and it wasn’t exactly glowing. Frankel, known for her blunt honesty, warned fans about the potential damage extensions can do, calling them “the worst” and emphasizing that she’s had her fair share of beauty mishaps.
Frankel explained that she had gotten the extensions on a few weeks ago, as she knew she had a few special occasions coming up where she would need extra-long lashes.
But now, she was coming to regret the choice, as she claimed in the video that she was left with ‘no eyelashes.’
‘I’m getting a growth serum, and I actually don’t even give a sh**, I’m also not gonna put lashes on anymore, so that’s discontinued for the moment unless it’s a big event, but this is a breaking lash announcement, do not get eyelash extensions,’ she said.
‘Don’t listen to bulls*** about if you go to a good person and whatever, don’t do it unless you want to be bald-eyed,’ she repeated.
So, what’s the scoop on these coveted lash extensions? While they might make your eyes pop, they can also cause allergic reactions, eye infections, and natural lash breakage. With synthetic fibers glued to each individual lash, the process can weaken and weigh down your natural lashes, leading to thinning over time. Poorly applied extensions or using unclean tools can even increase the risk of styes and eye irritation.
If you’re set on going the lash extension route, remember: quality counts! Go to a licensed, reputable technician and make sure they’re using hypoallergenic, high-quality adhesives. And just like Bethenny, don’t be afraid to speak up if something doesn’t feel right. After all, beauty is best when it’s both fabulous and safe.
