A huge eruption at Mt. Etna forced tourists to flee the volcano on Monday after the active volcano sent a plume of high-temperature gases, ash and rock into the air.
On social media, tourists can be seen running downhill. A popular tourist location, one tour company had 40 people on the Sicilian volcano when it erupted.
One still-shocked tourist exclaimed:
“It arrived all at once, an immense smoke, immense, immense roar.”
