Fox has been doing promos for months now, calling itself the home of the 2026 World Cup, yet the network neglected to show the opening ceremony starring Shakira. Needless to say, viewers were peeved.
The superstar performed the tournament’s official song ‘Dai Dai’ before a global audience of millions.
Fans took to X to voice their frustration:
“Is it just me or is FOX not showing the opening ceremony? Why are they at a desk in an empty stadium instead of around some festivities?” one person wrote.
“So Fox missed Shakira but is now showing a pointless flag march that looks like they took the Olympic opening ceremony and stripped out all the interesting bits,” another added.
