In a baffling press conference, Trump dismissed high inflation, arguing that his administration had ‘lowered prices saying ‘Affordability is a hoax that was started by Democrats who caused the problem of pricing.’
‘Our prices now for energy, for gasoline, are really low. Electricity is coming down. And when that comes down, everything comes down,’ the president said.
His refutation is belied by the facts. The latest Daily Mail/J.L. Partners poll, released last week, found that rising prices were the ‘top concern of American voters.’
In fact, the survey found that cost of living and inflation, health care costs and economic growth and job creation were the top three worries nationwide.
Trump argues that inflation was worse under President Biden:
