The 2025 Golden Globe nominations are here, and they’re delivering all the drama and star power you’d expect from Hollywood’s buzziest awards. Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande are going head-to-head in the Best Supporting Actress category for their roles in Emilia Pérez and Wicked, respectively, setting up a pop-diva showdown. Meanwhile, Zendaya’s steamy performance in Challengers landed her a Best Actress nod in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, further solidifying her reign as one of Hollywood’s brightest stars.
On the TV side, The Bear dominated with multiple acting nominations, including Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri. Fan favorites Only Murders in the Building and Abbott Elementary are vying for Best Comedy Series, while Shōgun and Slow Horses are the dramas to beat .
In the Best Director category, Coralie Fargeat (The Substance) and Jacques Audiard (Emilia Pérez) made waves, with critics calling it a particularly competitive year. And in animation, Pixar’s Inside Out 2 is up against Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, among others .
With Miley Cyrus, Trent Reznor, and Atticus Ross competing for Best Original Song, and a packed Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category featuring Gladiator 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine, the race is wide open .
Comedian Nikki Glaser is hosting the awards ceremony which will air live on Sunday, Jan. 5, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
