Named the “Babka King” by the Los Angeles Times, Chef Shimi Aaron is letting lucky New Yorkers get a taste of his famous pastry at the recently opened culinary epicenter, Citizens New York at Manhattan West.
Starting next week, the culinary center’s beloved bakery, EllaMia, will provide a preview of its’ new menu featuring holiday babkas. This is the first time that Chef Shimi’s babka’s will be available in New York City.
His holiday Babka’s available at Ella Mia in Citizens New York will feature chocolate ganache, roasted hazelnuts, candied orange and rose petals. They make the perfect host or hostess gift –and guarantee you’ll be invited back next year!

Chef Shimi Aaron’s Babkas will be offered every day starting December 20th-24th and again from December 26th-31st.
* Note that there is a limit of 10 Classic Babka’s offered each day
Guests can also order Chef Shimi’s babka using the Go by Citizens app: Download the Go by Citizens app and go to EllaMia landing page and make a reservation on the page and select a preferred date to pick up your Babka. Customers are notified and messaged directly and invited to come pick up their Babka.
