We’re slowly getting used to robots serving us coffee or drinks, but are people ready for a massage robot?
A robotics company called Aescape envisions their robots in every spa and hotel. The forward-thinking company has partnered with Hotel Lotte New York Palace to debut the first commercially available, fully automated AI massage experience.
A customizable robotic 30-minute massage will only cost $75. (For comparison’s sake, a 60-minute custom massage carried out by a human will cost $260 at the same hotel spa.)
As you can see, it’s not a humanoid robot like, say, Boston Dynamics Atlas but rather two robot arms attached to a massage table.
According to Aescape, Unlike a human masseuse, the robot creates an AI 3-D computational model before delivering a personalized massage tailored to the user’s body.
And you can customize the massage as you go via a set of buttons right below your head.
‘The next generation of massage’ boasts the company.
