Trump is planning to celebrate his 79th birthday and (in tiny print) the Army’s 250th anniversary in one ‘Huge, beautiful’ celebration—all on the dime of U.S. taxpayers.

The latest price tag for the affair: $30 million, a figure expected to rise to $45 million.

As many pundits have pointed out, this is what dictators do. (Not exactly the mission, given Elon Musk’s so-called ‘Department of Government Efficiency’.)

With over 6,500 troops flown to Washington, more than 150 vehicles, and more than 50 aircraft, Putin would feel quite at home.

These costs reportedly don’t include post-celebration costs, including trash pickup and road repairs from the weight of the tanks.

“This is Trump. This is all about his ego and making everything about him,” Sen. Jack Reed, the top Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said on Wednesday.

Trump’s parade will resemble a dictator’s military celebration.
